Plastic prints for a variation of applications
FDM printers (Fused Deposition Modeling) use thermoplastic filament, which is heated to its melting point and then extruded, layer by layer, to create a three dimensional object. It is by far the most common technology for 3D printing in one or two colours. FDM uses a variety of plastics, the most popular of which are ABS (acrylonitrile butadiene styrene) and PLA (polylactic acid). Both ABS and PLA are capable of creating dimensionally accurate parts .
